Activities marking the 2018 Democracy Day will begin on Friday with a Juma’at Prayers at the National Mosque in Abuja.
According to the programme of events released by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, will on Monday deliver this year’s Democracy Day Lecture at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
A statement signed by the Director of Press, OSGF, Andrew Agyo Uhwe, said prayers would be offered for the nation, its leadership at various levels during the celebration.
Similar prayers will hold at the National Worship (Ecumenical) Centre, located at the Central Business District, Abuja on May 27.
All the events are expected to draw participation from all tiers of government, past Presidents and Heads of State, traditional rulers, the Diplomatic Community and Non-State Actors amongst others.
