Arbaeen marks the 40th of mourning for Imam Hossein (AS), the third Shiite Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), who was martyred in the 7th century AD. Each year millions of Muslims start a trek to his shrine in Karbala in Iraq.
